Important Notice : Software upgrade for Electronic Chart Display and Information System (ECDIS)
To Whom it may Concern.
JRC would like to confirm that we have released software resolving the symptom of not displaying some types of wreck and obstruction correctly, which was initially advised on our website in 26 May 2010.
1.Objective equipment type
ECDIS, Chart Radar, Simplified Chart Display, Route Planning System, Navigation Workstation
The following software version equipment/model cross reference listing should be confirmed and the equipment will operate correctly. Please check the software version according to the procedure of the appropriate models' instruction manual on following list or contact a JRC service agent who can make appropriate arrangements for checking the equipment software version.

2.Action to be taken
If it is found that an earlier software version is installed in any of the above equipment, JRC recommends to upgrade the equipment to the latest software as soon as possible and the consideration of paper charts until the software upgrade to the latest version has been satisfactorily completed.
If anyone has any doubts or queries regarding possible software update requirement for the above equipment, again please contact your local service agent or distributor.
In accordance with IMO SN.1/Circ. 266/Rev.1 and IHO guideline, ECDIS software upgrade to the latest version is highly recommended by both IMO and IHO for the safety of navigation if an ECDIS is used as a means of navigation.
