Adding New Services to Smart Ship Viewer to enhance Safe Navigation of Vessels

Products

Japan Radio Co., Ltd.(JRC) will add new features to "Smart Ship Viewer" (SSV), a ship-to-shore information service provided to ships, to further enhance safe navigation.

Overview

Since the launch of SSV in April 2019, which supports safe navigation from the shore (the management company office) by providing status of managed ships, ship-to-shore information sharing etc., JRC has received positive feedback from numerous customers and has steadily increased the user base. In response to customer requests, we have expanded the services including VDR playback.

The new features primarily improves the operability of managing multiple ships from the shore (the shore office). By allowing users to check the status of the managed ships easily and thoroughly, we have enhanced user convenience. Additionally, we have developed a smartphone application for the crew members on board, which contributes to improve work efficiency.

New Service Highlights

Dashboard
This features allows for the display of the navigation status and alarm occurrences of multiple managed ships on a single monitor, enabling quick identification of ships that require attention.

VDR Data Playback
This features enables remote downloading and playback of data stored in the ship's VDR. By playing back the data on SSV from the management company office, detailed data analysis can be conducted swiftly. Additionally, users can access and easily replay and review past navigation records from the cloud-stored data*1.
