Our Stance on Protecting Personal Information

In the course of conducting its business, Japan Radio Co., Ltd. (“the Company”) acquires information that can identify specific individuals (“personal information”). This includes names, addresses, e-mail addresses, and telephone numbers of customers and others. The Company recognizes its social responsibilities with respect to appropriately handling such personal information and will work assiduously to protect it.

Personal Information Protection Policy

  1. The Company shall comply with laws and other ordinances related to the protection of personal information.
  2. The Company shall formulate personal information protection handling rules that reflect relevant laws and the like, and shall comply with those rules.
  3. The Company shall acquire personal information through appropriate processes, and shall use such information only to an extent agreed upon by relevant individuals.
  4. The Company shall create appropriate mechanisms to ensure against loss, damage, falsification, and the like of personal information.
  5. The Company shall not provide personal information to third parties without consent of the relevant individual. However, personal information may be used jointly with subsidiaries and affiliated companies. In compliance with relevant laws and the like, and in order to achieve the appropriate usage objective, the Company may also outsource the handling of information.
    When outsourcing the handling of personal information, the other party shall ensure appropriate controls, as the Company would, based on business outsourcing contracts and the like.

Handling Accessed Information

SSL (Secure Sockets Layer)

In order to prevent against improper access by third parties during information transmission, the Company strives to ensure the security of personal information. For example, the Site encodes personal information using SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) when inputting personal information on customers.

Using Cookies

The Company may use “cookies” to make the Site more user-friendly for customers. Cookies are pieces of information that are shared between the Web server and the customer’s browser.
Web servers that use cookies can keep a record of Web pages that a particular computer has accessed. However, the Company cannot determine the identity of a customer unless that person inputs his/her own information on the Site.

Access Analysis

Information on users of the Site is recorded in the form of an access log. Access logs include user domain names and IP addresses, types of browser used, and access dates/times, and are used for statistical analysis on the maintenance and usage of websites. The Company uses its access log for market analysis—such as identifying user characteristics without specifying individuals—as well as reference for formulating marketing policies.
