A "new series of radio communication systems for the GMDSS" is developed.

The Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS) is a comprehensive communication system spanning across marine, satellite, and land facilities. GMDSS allows ships in operation at sea to smoothly issue distress calls and summon the aid of the nearest search-and-rescue forces patrolling land, air, and sea from anywhere in the world, no matter how remote. We completed a GMDSS radio communication system compliant with applicable domestic laws and regulations and the 1988 Modification of the 1974 International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS Convention).
