Our "amateur radio receiver" is released.

Our receivers were established favorites for many of the world's amateur radio fans by dint of their high technology and quality. Even so, we had yet to develop a ham receiver for non-business use by hobbyists at home. Things changed in 1977, when we added the NRD-505 receiver to our ham receiver series in a bid to capture the domestic market of 350,000 radio fans.
