Development of the locator using GSM communication

JRC's locator is an equipment that tracks the vehicle's precise location acquired by the Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver and collects vehicle information : speed, fuel level, ID, and so on, from external devices. This equipment transmits the location and the vehicle information via Global System for Mobile Communication (GSM) module by request from a server with bidirectional communication.

Development of 4-Level FSK Digital Portable Radio/Module

Land Mobile Radio has been in the transformation period from Analog to Digital in Japan.

As for the Digital Land Mobile Radio, π/4-DQPSK system have been regarded as the mainstream at first phase, however 4-level FSK system becomes crucial for the demand for low cost digital radio. Bearing this demand from Users, the specification called ARIB STD-T102 has been updated in March, 2011 in synchronization with this Technology move.

JRC has developed 4-Level FSK Digital Portable Radio and Module not only for Voice/Data Communications between terminals but also for Data Communication between Base Station and Terminal, handling small data size with more frequent communications based upon JRC land mobile radio platform.

The transmission efficiency became more than 3times in data communication between Base Station and Terminal than the data communication between terminals.

Development of Radio System

Recently, Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications announced its plan to shift Analog Land Mobile Radio into Digital on purpose to have efficiency use of spectrum in future, synchronizing with its Frequency Re-organization Project.

JRC has developed two kinds of Digital Radio Core Systems using 4-level FSK modulation and π/4-DQPSK modulation applicable for 360MHz - 390MHz band to meet the demand and has developed Radio System which applied it.

The radio system is to enable user to perform Vehicle Condition Management in real time in order to improve Safety and Efficiency.

In this documents, the safety control system for vehicles test courses and business efficiency system for Industry Plants are introduced as Solution of this Radio System which JRC has developed.

Development of Shinkansen Maintenance work Safety support system

JRC has developed a system for supporting the safety of maintenance vehicles and maintenance workers, in the maintenance operations for the Sanyo-Shinkansen (so-called Bullet Train) of the West Japan Railway Company.

This system provides high reliabilities and convenient operations for safety supporting of the maintenance operations, because of the long information and high redundancy based on the Digital Radio, and including the functions of conventional models with useful human interface.

Field trials of independent distributed power system

The world has increased the interest in the global environment due to the Great East Japan Earthquake and global warming. JRC have developed by using the products and technologies of group companies for the purpose of energy supply and smart demand control for clean energy system, and was conducted field tests of the independent distributed power system. The field test results, it is possible to reduce more than 30% of the commercial power.
