| A tele-metering system produced by the Japan Radio Co. Ltd. for monitoring of sand and rock landslides was donated in 1987 to the Alagua State Office of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Venezuela. At the request of the Venezuelan government, a group of JICA experts was sent for a short period to repair the system and provide technical advice. The Saitama Plant (Kamifukuoka-city in Saitama Prefecture) of the company has established a harmonious relationship with a large area of forest.
The proportion of environmental facilities and green areas in the total ground area of the Plant widely exceeds the legal standard, 25%. Oaks, cherry trees, fragrant olives, and maples bloom uninterruptedly across all seasons. These forests are also precious habitats for raccoons and other wildlife. |
