1. Expansion of environmentally conscious products
1) Raise the application rate of the JRC's Type II Environmental Label to new originally planned and developed products to 100% by fiscal 2010.
2) Reduce hazardous substances (the object substances in RoHS) and continue to increase RoHS compatible products.
3) Construct a framework to control the contained materials in products by fiscal 2010.
2. Promote green procurement
To improve the Green Procurement percentage of all materials, parts, devices and products that comprise the shipped products to 80% by fiscal 2010.
3. Promote measures to prevent global warming
Reduce energy consumption (expressed as carbon dioxide from power generation, gas, crude oil) on a production value unit base to the level of fiscal 1990 (0.122 tons-CO2/million yen) by 2010.
4. Improve the recycling rate
Improve the recycling rate of waste products to greater than 95% by 2010.
5. Reduce the volume of permanent disposal of waste
Reduce the volume of permanent disposal of waste products generated by the Company's facilities on a production value unit base to less than 80% of fiscal 1996 levels by 2010.
6. Comply with laws and regulations related to the environment and other social demands
Comply with criterion values in the laws and customer demand.

* RoHS (Restriction of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment) European regulations to prohibit the use of lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, and two flame-retardant materials (PBB and PBDE) in electrical and electronic equipment after July 1, 2006.
